commodities.sh aggregates public commodities data from EIA, FRED, CFTC, USDA, and USGS. By using commodities.sh you agree to be bound by each upstream source's API terms in addition to these product terms. A plain-text copy lives at /terms.txt.

What brand and product do these terms cover?

commodities.sh is the primary-source commodities reference API for AI agents. These terms cover the website, REST API, MCP tools, and discovery surfaces served from commodities.sh.

How is FRED data attributed?

This product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. By using commodities.sh, you agree to the FRED® API Terms of Use at fred.stlouisfed.org. Do not imply endorsement by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

How are EIA and NASS attributed?

EIA data is attributed as “EIA” plus series ID on every observation and is subject to EIA Open Data terms. This product uses the NASS API but is not endorsed or certified by NASS. NASS Quick Stats terms apply when crop-progress series are served.

FRED® API

This product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Before redistributing a FRED series, check series notes for third-party copyright markings. Do not use "FRED", "ALFRED", or "Federal Reserve Bank" in a commodities.sh hostname.

EIA API

Data sourced from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, attributed as "EIA" + series ID on every observation. See the EIA API Terms of Service for redistribution limits.

NASS API (USDA)

This product uses the NASS API but is not endorsed or certified by NASS. CFTC Commitments of Traders and other USDA sources (WASDE-shaped PSD, export sales) are public reporting, attributed by agency name and report date or series ID.
